  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • ¾ cup cake flour
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1215 strawberries (about 1 cup pureed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare strawberry puree by pulsing trimmed strawberries in a food processor until chunky.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together butter, sugar, and egg until airy.
  4. Mix in vanilla, buttermilk, and strawberry puree until combined.
  5. Gradually add flours, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; mix gently.
  6. Fill a piping bag with batter and pipe into greased donut tin, filling halfway.
  7. Bake for about 7-8 minutes or until donuts spring back when touched.
  8. Prepare glaze by whisking powdered sugar and milk together.
  9. Once cooled slightly, glaze each donut.
