  • 10 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1/2 tsp dried)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • 1/2 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
  • 2 large eggs, divided
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, heat butter and olive oil; sauté diced onion until soft.
  3. Add minced garlic and sliced mushrooms; cook until browned.
  4. Season with thyme, salt, and pepper; stir in cream cheese and grated cheeses until creamy.
  5. Beat one egg into the mixture; cool slightly.
  6. Roll out puff pastry and cut diagonal strips along the edges.
  7. Spread mushroom filling down the center; braid the strips over the filling.
  8. Brush with remaining beaten egg; bake for 20–22 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before slicing and garnish with fresh herbs.
