Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 8 oz uncooked penne pasta
  • 1 cup honey BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish
  • Crushed red pepper flakes for a kick
  • Shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese if desired

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season and sear chicken until golden brown and cooked through; set aside.
  2. Deglaze the pan with chicken broth, scraping up brown bits for added flavor.
  3. Stir in honey BBQ sauce and optional soy sauce; let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add uncooked penne and water to cover; cover skillet and simmer for 12–15 minutes until pasta is tender.
  5. Return chicken to the skillet, stirring gently to combine everything for another couple of minutes.
  6. Adjust seasoning if needed and garnish with parsley and crushed red pepper flakes before serving.
