Indulge in the delightful taste of Hawaiian Roll French Toast, a sweet breakfast treat that transforms simple ingredients into a melt-in-your-mouth sensation. This recipe features soft, pillowy Hawaiian rolls soaked in a creamy custard made with eggs, milk, and a hint of cinnamon, then lightly pan-fried to golden perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (12-pack) King’s Hawaiian Rolls
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 tablespoons butter (for cooking)
  • Powdered sugar
  • Fresh fruit (like berries)
  • Maple syrup

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until combined. Add vanilla extract, cinnamon, brown sugar, and salt; mix well.
  2. Poke several holes in the bottom of each roll to allow custard absorption. Dip each roll into the custard mixture for about 30 seconds on each side.
  3. In a nonstick skillet over medium-low heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add soaked rolls and cook for 30-60 seconds per side until golden brown.
  4. Serve warm dusted with powdered sugar and topped with fresh fruit and maple syrup.
