  • Kosher salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1/3 cup apple juice or chicken broth
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken thighs with kosher salt and pepper, then place them in the bottom of your crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the apple juice (or chicken broth), brown sugar, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Pour this mixture over the chicken.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or high for 3 hours until the chicken is tender.
  4. About 30 minutes before serving, whisk together cornstarch with cold water and stir it into the sauce to thicken.
  5. Serve over rice or noodles and garnish with chopped green onions.
