Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 frozen puff pastry sheets
  • 8 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1/3 cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tsp water (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Thaw the frozen puff pastry sheets at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the chocolate ganache by heating the heavy cream until steaming and pouring it over the chocolate chips. Let sit for 90 seconds before stirring until smooth. Cool to pudding-like consistency.
  3. Beat the room-temperature cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla in a bowl until creamy.
  4. Cut thawed pastry into rectangles and create another rectangle shape inside each without cutting through.
  5. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and spoon cream cheese filling into each pastry cutout.
  6. Chill pastries briefly before baking for optimal puffiness.
  7. Bake for 17-20 minutes until golden brown and cool completely before topping with ganache.
