  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 tube (8-count) crescent roll dough
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs (optional for added crunch)
  • 2 tablespoons butter for sauce
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder for sauce
  • ½ teaspoon salt for sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper for sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine shredded chicken, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley, salt, black pepper, and melted butter until well mixed.
  3. Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles; flatten slightly.
  4. Place a spoonful of filling at the wide end of each triangle and roll up tightly to form pillows.
  5. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with panko if desired.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. For the sauce, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook until slightly golden.
  8. Gradually add milk and heavy cream while whisking continuously until smooth. Stir in Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes until thickened.
