Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.3 pounds ground beef
  • 4 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 1 yellow onion (grated)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 yellow onion (diced)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons chopped dill

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine grated onion, ground beef, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, heavy cream, and egg until well mixed. Divide into four portions and shape into patties.
  2. Finely chop another onion and mince garlic. Chop fresh dill for the sauce.
  3. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sear patties for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown; transfer to a plate.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant. Stir in salt, pepper, and flour.
  5. Pour in low-sodium chicken broth while scraping up brown bits; add heavy cream and chopped dill. Bring to a gentle boil then simmer until thickened.
  6. Return patties to the skillet; let them simmer briefly to absorb the sauce.
